Pittwater Day Surgery - Services

We have a Medical Advisory Committee comprising of well respected GP's and Specialists in the Northern Beaches area. We meet biannually to discuss any matters which need to be resolved by these knowledgeable modern thinking members of the medical community.

Reconstructive and Cosmetic Plastic Surgeon

We also have a quarterly Medical Review Committee meeting which studies our statistics, NSW Department of Health Policies and Bulletins, suggestions and complaints, equipment and supplier issues among other things.

We have been accredited since early 2002 by Benchmark Certification and have a licence to operate from the NSW Department of Health. This is reviewed regularly by them.

Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) surgery

The types of surgery performed are Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Reconstructive Plastic Surgery, Dental Surgery, and Surgical Urology. The Surgeons who undertake these various specialities in our facility include Dr's Frank Elsworth, John Flood, Nigel Curtis, Justin Vass, John Kippen, Michael Taplin, and Sawjin Tew.

1/ Dr Frank Elsworth MBBS. FRACS - is an ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) Surgeon.

The procedures Dr Elsworth undertakes at our facility includes:

Most of Dr Elsworth's patients have General Anaesthetics due to the nature of the procedures. Occasionally his patients may have Local Anaesthetic with or without sedation usually due to age factors or the medical condition of the patient. Some patients are prescribed antibiotics and pain relief medication to take home.

Many of his operations involve various extensive types of flap repairs.

Most of Dr Flood's patients require Local Anaesthetic with or without sedation. Some patients are prescribed antibiotics and pain relief medication to take home.

In 2007 Dr Flood is intending to perform some cosmetic surgery also. This will include such surgery as:

Most of Dr Curtis' patients have General Anaesthetics unless their age of medical condition precludes that. These patients often have Local Anaesthetic and Sedation. Most of Dr Curtis' patients have antibiotics and pain relief prescribed to take home.

7/ Dr. Jerry Vongphanit is an Australian trained ophthalmic surgeon and a fellow of Royal Australian and NZ College of Ophthalmologists.
