Credibility / Overview
We have operated on approximately 17,000 patients, both adult and child, and this number is increasing. As demonstrated over the last 16 years, Pittwater Day Surgery fulfills an essential role in the delivery of world class surgical services for the local Northern Beaches community.
As a private day surgery, Pittwater Day Surgery is required under the Private Health Facilities Act 2007 (NSW) and Regulations 2017 (NSW) to maintain its license as a private healthcare facility. The ongoing licensing by the Department of Health and quality accreditation and review cycle is administered by Global-Mark. This Process reviews all the quality standards as per ASQHS – Australian Standards of Quality Health Sevices. This ensures compliance with the standards for the safe, appropriate and quality health care for patients within the facility.
Regulated standards cover:
- Clinical standards, including accreditation of practitioners to provide services at the facility, delineation of clinical privileges of practitioners and quality assurance;
- Staffing, including qualifications of staff members, number of staff and duties;
- Design and construction of clinical areas; and
- Operational matters, including administration and support services.
