Our Facility and Rooms
Pittwater Day Surgery is privately owned by PDS Investment Holdings PTY. The concept for the facility was developed by Dr Frank Elsworth who is an ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat ) Specialist, in collaboration with the NSW Department of Health.
The Day Surgery has been designed to all the requirements of local and state health care and legislation, Australian Standards and Building Codes. We have purchased all of the latest medical equipment to keep abreast of the latest techniques.
Our Information Technology is also continuously updated to enable more efficient booking and admission procedures. This IT also provides mechanisms for the reporting and transference of information to referring General Practitioners and other medical officers caring for our patients.
We comply with the Privacy Act of 1988. To do this we treat your personal details with the upmost respect and use the information primarily for your care. If you would like to know more about this policy it is on this website.
The Operating Suite is located adjacent to Northern Beaches ENT consulting rooms. If seeing one of our specialist ENT doctors you are able to have complete continuity of care from initially consulting with one of our Specialists, to having your operation or procedure in the Day Surgery – literally next door. If you are seeing one of the other 50 specialists in the building, your surgery may be performed downstairs on Level 2. Your postoperative check up with your Specialist will be back in his/ her consulting rooms.
The Day Surgery consists of three Operating Theatres, one for the sole use of Endoscopy, an eight bed first stage Recovery area and a six recliner chair Recovery/Discharge area for second stage. This area also includes a specific area for our paediatric patients. Relatives / Carers can wait in comfort in the waiting area outside the Operating suite or you can go downstairs & have a peaceful cup of Coffee / Tea or wander around the beautiful Mona Vale precinct whilst waiting for your call to come & collect your loved one.
Parking is located underneath the building for a 3-hour period or across the laneway in Bungan Lane you can park in the Council Carpark for eight hours on the roof top.
