Pittwater Day Surgery Consumer Information

Pittwater Day Surgery is delighted to share the good news that we have been successful in obtaining the renewal of our National Safety & Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHSS) certification for a further 3 years. Pittwater Day Surgery has a Governance framework that focuses on ensuring positive outcomes for patients, their families and our staff.


The framework includes:


  • An Executive Management Committee with knowledge of Hospitals and Healthcare

  • An experienced Management team

  • A reporting review structure (via Committees) to monitor and improve

outcomes

  • Systems and processes that measure quality of care.

Clinical Effectiveness is measured by:


  • Quality and Safety Indicators used to measure and monitor performance

  • Quality plans initiated when required

  • Quality and safety indicators are benchmarked

  • High risk areas regularly audited

  • Quality performance and safety results are reported to the Executive Management Committee

  • NSQHS accreditation requirements



We ensure an effective workforce by:


  • Code of Conduct that staff and doctors must abide by

  • Strict credentialling, registration, and scope of practice verification process

  • Targeted education and competency requirements

  • Orientation of all staff


We promote consumer participation by:


  • Consumers participating in our Risk Management and Quality Improvement

Activities

  • Consumers complaints and feedback managed in a timely manner



We promote best practice care by ensuring:



  • Clinical Policies are developed in accordance with evidence-based practice,

legislative requirements and relevant standards

  • Clinical, risk and safety policies are reviewed on a regular basis and updated

as required

  • Competency assessments are completed regularly
